Indian mackerel, Rastrelliger kanagurta is one of the commercially vital pelagic fish in east and west coast India. The present study was analysis food spectrum R. kanagurtaat different stations Visakhapatnam coast, i.e., Station 1. Bangarammapalem, 2. Rambilli 3. Bheemunipatnam from July 2016 to June 2017. This species found be mainly feed on zooplankton goes 37%, phytoplankton 26%, egg larvae 10.5%, shrimp 11% miscellaneous matter 9% semi-digested 5.5% case males females 36%, 25%, 11%, 11.5% 9.5% 7% observed this study. clearly explains that a plankton feeder. results showed majority guts are empty range 31-55%, followed by ¼ full 11-26%, ½ 10.5-19%, ¾ 8-14%, 6-13.4% gorged ranges between 2.5-8.5% months. In it mostly 32-51%, 15-30.5%, 10.9-19.2%, 8-15%, 6-14% 2.5-6.2% period. feeding intensity higher during August poor May remain months moderate noticed.
